1. What the heck is MallTweets?
MallTweets empowers you to use your Twitter account to enhance your shopping experience and relationships with the malls and stores you shop at.
(In other words, with your Twitter account, you can engage with malls and stores by becoming a fan or shopper and get the latest on goings of a particular mall or store from other shoppers or from the business itself.)
2. Ok, so why MallTweets?
Everyone is already tweeting about their local malls and stores. We are just
making it easy for you to find them. Through
our super-advanced semantic-based filtering algorithm and aggregator technology
(aka keyword searches), we make it easy for you to see everyone's tweets,
including yours, about a specific mall or store from one centralized website.
3. And why should I use MallTweets?
Maybe you like to save money and want to know about the latest deals? Perhaps you like to meet people and you just want to see if any cute guys or gals are going to the mall today? Conceivably, you could just be bored and find the random musings of
mall shoppers in real-time entertaining? Heck, we really don't know why you
should use MallTweets, but you should anyways!
4. Wait, what's the point of using MallTweets if it's not even available
in my area yet?
Sorry, we were kind of hoping that folks like you actually wouldn't find out
about us yet, but since you have, please go ahead and send us a tweet
@MallTweets, and let us know what city we should
hit up next. Alternatively, you could just update your Twitter profile to '
Houston, TX'
and we will auto-magically be available in your area.
5. Magic tricks aside, when will MallTweets be available in my city?
In our quest for world domination, we will begin by launching from
Houston, Texas
in January 2010 (that's where the MallTweets "Mission Control" is,
get it?). By the early part of 2010, we will "mess with Texas"
get it again? and take over
Austin and Dallas. Hopefully by mid-2010, we will have all the major metropolitans in the US under our control, -er, we mean, on our website. By December 21st, 2012... you're on your own! (hopefully, you got that!)
6. So who's behind MallTweets?
Oh, just a bunch of over-ambitious and over-zealous no namers who all have issues with power and control. So why do you care to know? Are you a
competitor? If you are, then you just need to know we are your worst nightmare!
(And please do not read any further.) For those friendly, allow us to introduce
our founding team: a shop-a-holic, a small business owner, a Web 2.0 wannabe
know-it-all, and a CRM consultant.
For Users:
1. Do I need to register?
Not really. Are you already using Twitter? If you are, then you can use your Twitter
login and password to log into MallTweets. If you don't have an account, then
guess what?!
(hint: www.twitter.com)
2. Is the MallTweets profile in any way related to the Twitter profile?
Nope, these are separate profiles on separate websites. On Twitter, you can share basic information about yourself, whereas, on MallTweets, you can share more about who you are as a consumer, like the mall stores you shop at, the brands you love, and the things you are shopping for. Just think of us like a layer on top of your
Twitter profile.
3. So why would I want everyone to know more about me as a mall
shopper?
Because as shoppers, we have two purposes: to buy things, and buy them cheap.
So if you don't care to share anything about yourself with anyone, then don't
expect any serendipitous feedback from the community or targeted deals from
your favorite stores who could help you find what you are looking for at a
great price. So get that MallTweets profile filled out!
4. What's the "Business" link for?
When someone mentions a mall or store in their tweet, we will provide a direct
link to that business' profile page which you can click on to see more related
tweets. For tweets which we can't determine the exact location of the mentioned
business, we will simply provide a "Suggested Business" link with links to all the
possible locations of the mentioned business.
5. So what's up with the Malltweet scores?
Oh, it's just our way of adding a little fun and competition to the site for
our users. So if you're into that sort of stuff then here's a quick overview of
those scores:
CV Score - This is your "Consumer Vitae" score. It's based on the completeness
of your profile relative to other users. To raise your CV score, you just need
to update your MallTweets profile as complete as possible.
RPI Score - This is your "Referral Power Index" score. It's based on the number
of followers to your Twitter account relative to other users. To raise your RPI
score, you just need to get more followers to your Twitter account.
MVP - This is your "Most Valuable Purchaser" score. It's based on the number of
MVP tweets you receive from a business' Twitter account relative to other
users. This is actually the only score which you do not have direct control
over.
6. Hold up, how does this MVP thing work again?
Ahh, so you are reading our FAQs carefully. Anyways, the MVP score is based on
the number of MVP tweets you receive from businesses. Basically, an MVP tweet
is one that comes from a business' Twitter account and includes
"@your_twitter_account" and "MVP" in the tweet. Assuming that the business has
already claimed their business profile page on MallTweets, we will capture all
MVP tweets from them and score the MVP points to the targeted customer.
7. So how do I get an MVP tweet from a mall store?
You simply ask for it. You may have to explain to the mall store about MallTweets
and how they can send you an MVP tweet, but this shouldn't be a problem if you
just made a purchase from them. So at the point of sale, take the opportunity
to tell the cashier/manager/owner how much you like their store and you would
love it if they could tweet that you are a MallTweets MVP customer to the
world.
8. How can I make sure my tweet appears on MallTweets?
You know, we actually answer this on our
homepage. ;)
For Businesses:
1. Why should businesses use MallTweets and Twitter?
MallTweets and Twitter is like cookies and milk; they just go well together. Using
Twitter alone, you can build a nice set of followers for your business, but by
using MallTweets, you can see their loyalty level based on whether they declare
themselves as a fan or shopper. Additionally, because MallTweets is consumer-focused, our user profiles capture additional information about their consumer preferences (favorite brands and stores), buying intentions (shopping list), and habits (tweets). All this is aggregated in one location for your convenience. For the users themselves, they appreciate our service because
we provide a separate and dedicated channel for them to view and manage their
consumer-related activities, from declaring their fanaticism for a business to
viewing tweets from their favorite stores only. In other words, we help to
separate your business-related tweets from the "noise" of a user's Twitter
stream and put it in a place where they will actually read it. So it's a win-win situation for you and for shoppers.
2. How can a business claim their MallTweets business profile page?
Well, first off, the business should already have a Twitter account for their
business. Secondly, the business just needs to find its profile page on MallTweets
and click on the "Claim" link that is located in the Twitter field (right
column, top). This will take you to the claims page with additional
instructions on how to complete your business claim.
3. How can a business use MallTweets for customer service?
We couldn't make this any easier for you: Just scan through your business
profile's tweet stream and when you come across a complaint, complement,
question, or feedback, send a tweet reply directly from the page to the user
with an appropriate message. Any questions? =P
4. How can a business use MallTweets for marketing?
They say the holy grail of marketing
is one-to-one marketing. However, to actually do this, you need to know who you
are marketing to. At MallTweets, we have consumers who want businesses to know
who they are. Our user profiles provide basic demographics (location, age, sex,
school, work, etc.), consumer preferences (favorite brands and stores), and
product ownership information which you can use for targeting individuals. Just
find a prospective customer on MallTweets and send a tweet with a personalized
message to incite a reply or visit to your business.
5. How can a business use MallTweets for sales (leads)?
Easy! One way is to look at user profiles, see their buying intentions ('Shopping For' list), and send a tweet message to the user if you have something they are looking for. Another way is to scan through a user's tweet stream to see if
they might've expressed that they are looking for something which you can help
them with. But don't just stop there, look at your own
business' profile page or the mall's profile page for more tweets. Heck, you
can even look at other businesses' profile pages!
6. What's the catch (or cost) with using MallTweets?
No catch! Our service is free to use. So what are you waiting for? Check us out
now.
